Is there different criteria for judging and scoring the front handspring vault based in the level where it is competed?

Meaning, if a gymnast competes her vault, will this exact same vault receive a different score based in whether she is a level 4, 5, 6, or 7 (I believe all have a 10.0 start value)? Or is it scored the same regardless of level?

I'm not a judge, but I am nearly certain it is judged differently depending on the level--meaning more is expected (and required) of higher levels competing the same vault.

I remember reading this a while back - wish they had more answers like this!

So in answer to your question, yes there is a difference in judging a FHS vault on a level 4 and a level 7.
Great article. Never could figure out where the actual deductions are. I know DD was consistently getting killed on the block. Only now, three years later does she finally seem to understand the whole blocking thing!
