I've been drilling, spotting almost everything I can think to do to help my l4's connecting their cast out of their kip. They look amazing when I spot over and over and over. Once they are on their....ew! Help! Maybe it's fear but we've done handstands and had them bail over the bar.
I've got a gymnast who's arms are wide on just about everything. Back extensions, fhs vaults, bwo's, bhs. Any tips or drills that would help me help her fix this issue?
This is more of a rant. I am currently a compulsory coach at a gym that my L4 daughter trains at. Now I treat all of my athletes the exact same, no special privileges. Absolutely none. I'd rather not coach my own kid....but sometimes it doesn't work out the way we'd like. This past meet my...
I coach L3 taaf team for 3 hours a week. We had our first meet a couple of weeks ago. Most of my girls did very well. I had a few that didn't do so great. A mother confronted me about her daughter's results and why she did so poorly. Mind you, this little girl is late to every practice. So her...
I have a gymnast that is afraid of everything. She's not excited about learning new level 4 skills. I have to ride her to get anything done. There is always an excuse. I'll give her a correction that needs to be made....there is absolutely no change. Help??!!!
This happened a couple of weeks ago to me. One of my gymnast said that her momma said to do a certain skill and certain way. (Momma is not a coach) I politely told her well Momma isn't your coach so please listen to me. Again tonight Momma said that gymnast was to do her ending skill a certain...
This isn't really a question or post for needing advice. Tonight at gym one of my little girls broke her arm. This is the first time I have ever witnessed an injury so severe. She put her hand down to catch herself after a rebound that was very powerful. We should all take the time to remind our...
I have a TAAF gymnast who is incredibly lazy. She doesn't want to do the work. She has an excuse for everything. I'll tell her to do something and she will whine about it ask me why...an then just half attempt what I'm telling her to do. I feel like im babysitting. Has anyone had a gymnast like...
I have a gymnast who uses her right side too much. Hurdles and she leans to the right, hurdling too high. Standing bhs she jumps to the right lands too far right and ends up hurting herself for landing incorrectly. Tumbling on floor is not straight. Suggestions??!

Maybe it's just me, but coaching my own DD is very frustrating. Has anyone else coached their own? Any tips to make it a little easier? I'm just tired of the attitude and lack of effort she gives me. Talk about complaining.....it's all I hear. Help!!
