Parents How far do you travel to your gym?

About 15-20 minutes from home and about 10 minutes from my work (for summer I pick her up as a lunch break for myself)

Parents Is this normal? Really? :)

Last year was our first real competition season. They did the matching flip flops with ribbon, hair, etc. Quite frankly it was obnoxious. The matching outfits, okay, but the shoes were overboard. It was much like a high school clique last year, with one mom doing matching hair for a group of...

Parents Poll: Which level(s) has your gymnast not competed?

Scored out of 4 at the end of last season and will try to test out of 5 in a few weeks

Parents Is DD the only one still waiting to learn what level she will compete this fall?

Still waiting...know she has to test out of 5. Probably will compete mostly 6 this year, but could be 5, 6, or 7!

WAG typical ages at different JO levels

My daughter was one of the few on team that did not start in a mommy and me or preschool class. At 5 1/2 she begged me to let her do a rec class. Just after she turned six they invited her to team (old level 3). Last year she competed current level 3, but uptrained an additional day a week...

WAG How is your gymmie built?

My daughter just turned 8. Definitely a more muscular build. She's the youngest and shortest on her team. Many of the other girls are longer, leaner. For as tiny as she is though, she has a butt. Not a common sight in our gym

    WAG Sharing goals

So it definitely seems they are pushing for her to compete at minimum level 6 for most of the season. They started working on her beam mount today, so she was ecstatic when she realized this means she'll get to compete optional....pending the test out of level 5.

WAG Best app for meet tracking

WAG what are a and b skills etc

    WAG age/skill level for grips?

Our gym it's a "right of passage". They all get grips when they move to level 5.

WAG Question re: Old L6 vs new L6, and L7

Last year they moved all the L5's to L6 by the end of the season. This year it looks like they're going to change it up a little. They have a group they plan on competing 5 all year and a group they plan on competing 6 & if ready moving to 7. I think....it's not been formally said, but as...

    WAG How much?

Oh and we buy a"summer leo". It's a tank leo they wear for camp shows, exhibitions, and mock meets. This year's was $50

    WAG How much?

    1. About $400/mo. (15 hrs a week) 2. Were quarterly, but we'll go contract this year which is monthly 3. Leo and warm up is generally around $500. New ones every year 4. Not so much hidden fees, but we do have mandatory fundraising for those on contract. I believe last year was $2500.

    WAG Sharing goals

So we parents always joke about we'll know what the coaches plans are for our girls the day of the first meet. While I've learned to trust the coaches, I still find it frustrating to not know what the aim is. My daughter just turned 8. She competed level 3 last year, but did one day a week...

    WAG Region 7 Group?

Region 7 as well. Like "Pea's Mom", haven't done a lot of posting yet

WAG Do your daughter's summer training hours increase?

Currently a level 3 who goes 10 hours a week with that team, but does an additional 4 hour day with level 4 team. This summer will move to level 5 team and will be 20 hours a week (7-11am)during the summer except the 4 weeks of camp which is 7-2:30 M-Th and 7-1 on Fridays. While her and I both...
