The 2012 U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics team is:
Douglas, Wieber, Raisman, McKayla Maroney, and Kyla Ross Replacement athletes are Finnegan, Li and Price!
Men's Team:
Jonathan Horton, John Orozco, Sam Mikulak, Jake Dalton and Danell Leyva.
Replacements:Chris Brooks,Steven Legendre, Alexander Naddour
I, with all my expertise, would have sent Price instead of Maroney. And Sacramone at least as an alternate

Unpopular opinion time:
I wouldn't have selected Sacramone either at this point in time. We have beam covered. She doesn't do floor or bars. We're drowning in Amanars.
Granted, I'm side eyeing the Maroney decision as well--she's really only strong on vault, & concussions make me worry. Gymnastics is a jarring sport.
Another unpopular opinion:
I hate the shady and dirty selection process. Maybe I'm holding onto things too long, but I'm still peeved over what happened to Kim Kelly in 92. If you read the book 'Little Girls in Pretty Boxes', there are additional details to that situation in the book.
Part of the reason why they pulled Kim was due to complaints about her curvy/womanly body. I wouldn't be surprised if that played in a factor in Alicia's fate as well. The FIRST thing my husband said when they announced the names and the girls were standing out there was "They all look like little girls" and he is right. They claim the 'little girl' look scores better internationally. Sad reality of the sport I guess.
