Does anyone know if there are any regulations for orthodontic appliances in a gymnasts mouth during a meet? My daughter is getting a lip bumper put in (goes on the bottom of her mouth to keep her from sucking on her lip). It's also sometimes used to go in front of bottom braces for protection, so it sticks out a lot farther than braces do. I'm just wondering if if would be considered a hazard or something like that. It's not a removable piece so it's not like she can just take it out for meets. Does anyone know if there are rules for things like this?

I'll see if I can find a picture so you can see what it looks like.

Ok thanks! She had it once before and needs to get it out back in, it just dawned on me how far it sticks out and I wouldn't want it to be an issue. Just random worries that keep me up at night :D
