WAG Do we take out the screw or leave it in

I am hoping that someone with a lot more gymnastics experience can help me out with this. DD had a 5th metatarsal avulsion fracture last fall and it failed to heal after 8 weeks so she had surgery and they inserted a screw. It finally healed. The Doctor know wants us to consider taking it...

Parents My DD is a gym "nerd"

DD is the same way. Coach always asks her questions about elite gymnastics since he knows that she knows the answers. She knows the JO code better then the coaches. The coach keeps telling her that her turn on floor is a B even though DD knows that it is a D. Also DD has a D skills on beam...

She is pretty obsessed with eating healthy. She eats a big breakfast everyday but eats only small portions at other meals. She makes sure she gets protein before and after practice and eats lots calcium.

    WAG female athlete triad

So DD is out with her 2nd broken bone in less then a year. I have had 2 medical people recently mention to me female triad and so doing some research it could fit but I don't want to jump to any conclusions. I mean broken bones do happen in gymnastics and it sounds like its fairly common for...

WAG Coaches - good majors for wanting to be a coach

WAG Coaches - good majors for wanting to be a coach

Thanks for all the advice. She is definitely leaning toward kinesiology or exercise physiology. She was surprised that it wasn't as common of a major as she expected it to be. You guys have given her a couple of other thoughts. I don't think it would be too hard to convince her to make every...

WAG Coaches - good majors for wanting to be a coach

DD is starting to think a lot about college and where she wants to go. We did some research this weekend and of course the school that she has wanted to attend for their gymnastics program doesn't have the major she was thinking about. So that got us looking a several other schools with good...

WAG Level 9 - moving up and start values

    WAG Stretching leotards

I did the can in the crotch for DDs leo too. Do it while its wet. It does work. Once DD had a tank leo that was too tight under the armpit so I pulled the straps up my thighs which are so much bigger then her arm and wore it around the house for several days. DD then was able to wear the leo.

WAG Has anyone moved to get to a better gym?

We are dealing with the same issue. Tried to move this summer but it didn't work out. Daughter is upset that we couldn't make a move but understands that we tried. We also have the same concerns as you do. I feel bad for my DD. If she was an adult she could move on her own but because she...

WAG Getting to NATs/NIT from regionals - rant

Several years ago Norcal put it up for a vote to move to R2. It would certainly be in their advantage to do so but they didn't want to move to R2. Why?

WAG high reps with no weight or less reps with weight

DD is very strong and loves to condition. She is always challenging herself by trying to increase her numbers. Some of her current numbers are 100 v ups and 83 dips on parallel bars. Then last weeks she decided to add a weight vest to some of her conditioning. Of courses the number or reps...
