Great Idea!

DD had a slow start to summer training but ended up with a bang, and is now completely focused and on track for this next season!

Gymnastics Summer Accomplishments

Double back into pit (with spot)
Piked Tsuk
Side Somi
Front tuck 1/2 (not sure of the names of some of these :D)
Front Full/Front 1 1/2
Back LO 1 1/2
Front Handspring on Beam
RO Back LO dismount on beam
Cast to handstand, giant/giant flyaway on bars
1/2 pirouette on bars
Clear hip on bars
front tuck/front layout on floor

It just all seems to be coming together at the moment - she is definitely one of those kids that has a burst of new skills, and then slows again.....

She is also working release moves on bars and those are coming along well.....another scary thing for mom

As for me, I've been working hard on the old law of attraction, trying to be as positive as possible so that the universe feels compelled to throw the same back at me - so far it's working quite well!

Cheers to all

In the gym

DD has been working hard on L6 skills. Has almost all, but working to get front tuck and clear hip better. She attended her 4th year of IGC, had picture taken with Shawn Johnson, Blaine Wilson, David Durante and Joe Hagerty. Even got spotted by Shawn Johnson. Did a couple of back handsprings on beam. Working hard on cast to handstand. Is enjoying the gym without getting overstressed about it.

Out of gym

DD1 (gymmie) got braces (I think that is actually the highlight of the summer for her). Was placed in HS algebra in 7th Grade. Is starting French and is very excited.

DD2 did first summer of swim team and made divisionals. We will be spending the winter at the pool too! Attended musical theater camp and gave end of the two week session performance.

As family, a couple of day trips to the beach, days at the pool, days at amusement parks, and lots of family time since DD has gym practice during the day for the first time this summer.

Me - just found out I passed the L5/6 judging test.

Love this thread.

dd - age 7

Moved up to L5
ROBHBT on floor
Side aerial on floor
BWO on beam
finally started making some kips (not consistently yet but getting there!)
Went to camp with a friend.
Moved schools and loves it!
caught a pop fly in one of her softball games
Made a new friend

Opps! I mean DD got braces off. I don't think it would be a highlight to get them on!

These are her winter achievements ... I'll let you know her summer ones in March ;)

Back hip circle
BHS (still squating too deep on landing, but she's getting it!)
Started at a new gym
Qualified for 2nd regional comp
... and the big one: overcame a lot of fear and is more willing to give things a go!

Looking forward to moving up to level 3 next year!
