WAG Does anyone know where I could get a list of NY gyms?

I checked the NY USAG website and the region 6 website but could not find a list. Specifically looking for gyms in the Westchester County area. Thanks!!

WOW! that is a lot of gyms in a close proximity, guess you have plenty to choose from!

Most of those are in the city or Brooklyn...not Westchester County. A few in Westchester or close proximity: Dynamic Gymnastics, World Cup Gymnastics, Odyssey Gymnastics, and American Gymnastics. Epic Gymnastics also recently opened in Brewster.

Dynamic Gymnastics is the home of Sabrina Vega. Coaches are husband and wife Sorin Cepoi and Teodroa Ungureanu. Teodora is a Romanian gymnast who competed in the 1976 Olympics. I believe World Cup may have also had some elites in the past. Both Dynamic and World Cup were given the distinction by Livestrong.com to be one of the top gyms in the east coast. Aside from the above gyms, there are many other gyms that produce great JO gymnasts.

You are right. I knew that but I did not catch it when I read the article. I don't know how good a website livestrong.com is. But misinformation is not a good sign. In addition, I was just advised that Sabrina Vega has switched gyms and no longer is with Dynamic.

Both of those gyms are at thr northern ends if Westchester county. During traffic times could be well over an hour from southern Westchester county.

There really aren't any gyms with competitive USAG teams in Southern Westchester (which I have to say is pretty amazing...). The furthest south I can think of is Westchester Gymnastics Academy...which isn't really all that far south! However, after that there aren't any with a competitive team until you get to the city.

ETA: ISG appear to have a prep-opt only team. They are located in Harrison.

I am in CT, bordering Westchester, so the northern clubs are good for us. Now if I could just get DD to agree to visit them!! What a drag...

There is Arena in Stamford and the new Chelsea Piers in Stamford. GCA is relatively new in Fairfield. Darien Y. Gym Revolution in Danbury/Bethel. All of those are a lot closer than Northern Westchester from where you are now. I grew up in Southern Westchester and I live in Fairfield County now.

We are considering switching gyms. Everything is going to a longer drive and make life more hectic, but I have to see what else is out there. I would love to post about our current situation, but for those who do know this area, I think it will be too easy to identify and I prefer to avoid that.

There is Arena in Stamford and the new Chelsea Piers in Stamford. GCA is relatively new in Fairfield. Darien Y. Gym Revolution in Danbury/Bethel. All of those are a lot closer than Northern Westchester from where you are now. I grew up in Southern Westchester and I live in Fairfield County now.
