Layout to low???

My form is pretty good on my layouts, but every time I feel like I barely make it around. It kinda feels like I'm going really slow, even though the roundoff back hand spring is pretty fast. When I do my layouts my arms kind of do an arm circle to my thighs. Could that be affecting it? I've been trying different things, but it always feels low and slow, and I don't get a good rebound out of it. I want to try twisting soon, but I don't see how it's possible with my layout. Any advice???
