Dd's gym was closed for a week and a half, literally a day after she did her very first back walkover on the high beam without any pads. If you know anything about my dd, you know she's on the "sloth track" and skills take a long time to come. Not walking into a gym for 10 days after doing a skill for the first time would be completely the worst. thing. ever. in most circumstances.
Miraculously, her back walkover did not go away! Gym started back up this week and she got up on that beam and nailed her 10 back walkovers like nothing and moved on. I'm SO relieved. It continually amazes me to see what skills come easily for her and what skills become stinky. I've given up trying to predict it (well, kinda... sorta...).
Now if only she could figure out the grips...
