I am a high school gymnast who normally competes a good half on half off vault. I’ve never had any issues with vault until this year. It used to be my favorite event but now I’m terrified of it. During practice I keep running directly into the vault after hitting the springboard. I know I can do the vault and am not scared of the vault itself so I’m not sure why I’m not going for it. I even simplified it to just a half on but that hasn’t helped. I think part of it is I don’t know where to look as I’m running. My eyes dart between the springboard and the vault and I think that could be what’s causing me to panic and not go over. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this? Thank you!!!
