WAG Why do coaches seemingly avoid conversations with parents?

I could have written this 100%. The lack of communication drives me nuts. I would love a 5 minute (seriously, set a timer so no one goes over - I'm cool with that) once a month or every 2. It's hard when an entire family's schedule really revolves around one kid's activity, but that's the way it...

    Women's Individual AA Final (spoiler)

So, I'm super disgusted with the waterworks by Komova. Dude, you got a medal. A SILVER MEDAL. Get a hold of yourself.

SPOILER ALERT!! Women's team Final starting!!

Holy Balls. There are marks in my palms from my fingernails clenching too hard

    Kellogg's tour

Just got my tickets for PB and I! I totally missed the gym ones a few months back (we had JUST switched to that gym and I didn't know about it until it was too late). I ended up being able to get really nice seats right in front of one section (not the million dollar seats, lol). PB is only 6...

    Splits question

Her coach did just that - she had PB do all 3 splits for me after practice so that I could see what she's talking about (because I don't know anything about anything, really). She showed me to kind of kneel behind PB, so that her back leg stays straight, and kind of "guide" her hips (hold them...

    Mckenna, American Girl movie

PB is excited (she loves the McKenna game on my iPhone). She doesn't realize you can buy the DVD now; but she has the day written on he calendar when it will be on TV ;) I'll DVR it - I'm cheap like that. We have the doll with the bar set and beam (we got it right when it came out for her...

    Splits question

PB was working last night on her splits at the gym. Her center is nice (about an inch from the ground? It's come a LOOOOONG way in the past month or so). Right split is pretty bad and left split is "OK" but needs work. After practice coach was showing me WHY PB was having such issue with right...

Scary Post and Question Spinal Cord

Thinking of Sophia! I enjoy watching the videos you post - you can tell how much she really loves the sport. Here's to a nice, relaxing summer and then right back to where she was before her injury!

    Parents Doll leotards

I second lilfliprz! I wasn't crazy about the leo that came with McKenna from AG, and got one from them instead. PB can take it on and off easily, and the quality is really good (it's mystique fabric). I haven't had a custom one done, but I've seen them on the facebook page and they're really...

    Melody Leotards clearance leo sale

We just got a blue metallic for PB's gym end of the year show, and she LOVES how comfy it is. The fabric is great. We have a couple lycra too and they wash nicely.

    Melody Leotards clearance leo sale

The dragon is one of PB's favorites! She gets the most compliments on it, hands down. I don't usually let her wear stone leos (because stones are a special "competition" thing to her), but there's no way I could pass up that leo!

    Melody Leotards clearance leo sale

Hidden in the Accessories: 5 leos for $25! Melody Leotards - Clearance Leotards I've bought... 5 or 6? leos from here over the past year maybe, and the customer service can't be beat! I have no need more more leos at the moment, but with summer starting and girls increasing hours, extra leos...

    Books (fiction) for young gymnasts

PB is a huge reader, but I've had some trouble finding books that weren't too "old" for her. The McKenna books are borderline too much for her (more, I think it just looks intimidating to her). Plus, I think it might be hard for her to relate to a 4th grader (PB is in Kindergarten, just a very...

    Off Topic Zazzle sale

Yeah, we need more water bottles like a hole in the head, but I couldn't help myself! I'm a sucker for a good deal.

    Rope Climbing?

(Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this thread, but I'm never sure where to put stuff). DD just switched to a new gym in March, and has really been loving it - it's much more conditioning-based than skills-based like her old gym, and conditioning is what she needs to work on. Anyway...

I tried out new Gym Hair over the weekend

Probably a little over an hour. I put on a movie, and fed her lots of snacks (notice the icing-covered animal crackers in the picture, lol. I only bust those out when I REALLY need them). I started right out of the shower, so it was pretty damp, added gel, and then started sectioning. I think...

I tried out new Gym Hair over the weekend

It took FOREVER, but because I can't braid to save my life, and DD's hair is SO thin and slides out of everything anyway, I figured I'd give it a go. She slept on it last night and it held perfectly! PS - I curled that pony within an inch of it's life :o and that's about 20 minutes later...

    Melody Leotard Deals

Today she posted the London Banner leo for $18. Good deal! Oh, and after emailing her, Melody said she would do a special-fit leo for my DD too - body of a CS and length of a CM. I told her she should do a "Child-Beginner" size (since the CI is halfway between a CM and a CL). :p
