Thanks. We never went to a meet before and I was told the awards were done by lvl & age. So there was some confusion there. But if they score the girls by lvl only not by lvl and age, what's the drive to get to the next lvl?
My DD competed in her first lvl 3 meet JO recently. All the girls ranged in ages 6 to 10 and they all competed against one another. It didn't matter what the age was. I didn't think it was fair b/c my DD is 7. My thought was if this is how they do this then what's the point of moving up? I know...
Depends on where you live. My sister lives in that area. Her two DDs do gym. She says National Elite Gymnastics (south) & Capital gymnastics (north). Good luck!
Just curious, who's gym closes a week during the summer for Vacation? Ours typically closes the week of July 4th so most gym families schedules their summer Vacations during that week. Is this typical? I was chatting with an out of state friend whos DD does gym & she never heard of a gym closing...
If my DD was able to do L4 & L5 skills (which is what your DD can do) then I would not be happy with her repeating L2! Especially since she was 1st AA the past season. I would want to know why she didn't move up. Is it her age? Not mature enough? Too young to increase hrs? & then if you disagree...
No make UPS for cancelled team practice. But if a rec class is cancelled they have a "make up" class on Sat. specificly for cancelled class or if you were sick. But you have to sign up for it. The 1st 25 or so kids who sign up for it are allowed.
So after I read this thread, I went to MM instagram & browsed thru it... I was OK with it. She is a beautiful girl. She's young & popular, but I didn't find anything wrong with her photos. I have a 14 y.o. DD who doesn't dress much differently (at home & with friends not at school). She doesn't...
I'll go ahead and say it too... IT IS WAY TO MUCH! & 10pm bedtime for a kindergartener is just insane. The poor kid will tire out mid day. How will she be able to keep focus in class & learn? unless she plans on making gymnastics a career which last time I checked it wasn't a career.
I would move her to L4 for sure. She already has the skills & its a long way until next season. She seems to be talented & like you said learns quickly. So no need to hold her back IMO.
My DD is L3 & they have approximately 20 kids (give or take) with 2 coaches. It seems to be ok. Like coachp said, not all are at every practice every time. But no matter how many girls go to practice that day we always have 2 coaches there for L3

Thanks! Yes we have looked at a cheer gym that my DD will be trying starting next month. She loves gymnastics, but some of her gym teammates also do cheer. So she wants to do it too. She is so excited about it! But she still wants to do gymnastics & she will be competing L 3 in the fall. I hope...
I have previously posted that my youngest DD wants to try Cheer as a sport. Which we will be doing next month. I know Gymnastics scholarships exist, but what about Cheer scholarships? Don't get the wrong impression here, we are not doing sports or any extra curricular activities for...
I would have a talk with her coach. I would ask if she can train with the level 4 group & if she doesn't have all of her L4 skills by next season then she could compete L3. But you never know unless you get the opportunity to try. If he is adamant about her staying with the L3 & not uptrain...
