From what I know, the old compulsory levels were 2-6. I know they changed them up last year and are now 1-5. Still 5 levels of compulsory, skills relatively the same, all that changed were the numbers. That part, I've got. Am I right that they didn't make any changes to skills for optionals...

Are you allowed to backhandspring on beam at level 6?

I have been hearing rumors that new level 6 will once again be required after August 2014. Can any of our coaches that are "in the know" weigh in? Dunno?

I remember a post about this from not too long ago but don't remember the answer. Do level 6s have different angle deductions than levels 7-10?

Can anyone please confirm if a sissonne will fill the leap/jump requiring 180 cross/side split on beam? These new rules are too complicated. Can't find any specific text to say it will. Dd is terrified to do her split leap. Any advice please?

Hi Everybody, I'm new to CB and I'm so glad to have all of you as such an amazing resource for gymnastics. My dd is 8 and just completed her first season as a new level 3 (old level 4), but I noticed that some of her gymmies that just finished competing level 5 during the compulsary season here...

We are using L6 to give our kids that need extra time...a more relaxed year to learn skills. We need the routine that will score the best with these limitations... Gymnast can only cast to 45 degrees (A value cast) Gymnast can NOT clear hip to horizontal or above...

Just wondering what the start value would be for a kid who did a very nice level 6 (old) bar routine. Casts to handstand or close and free hip to at least horizontal. I can't seem to figure out if the baby giant is an actual skill with a value :)

I know you can of course do a flyaway. Out of pure curiosity I thought I had seen a second option for a level 6 bars dismount? Does anyone know what this is?
