Parents Abeka advice

Hello. C is homeschooled now going on year two. We switched to the Abeka curriculum. I really would like to hear all the positives and negatives about curriculum. I have read many hs blogs that rate Abeka and other programs, but I'd just like to hear the ideas here from parents who have tried the curriculum or are currently using it. C is in fourth grade. DD does have teammates who have used the program and are still using it. One has used it for years and loves it. Thank you in advance for all advice.

I grew up on Abeka and I used it in the very beginning. It did not work for us at all. It was too much like school at home, rigid and full of busy work. If you are looking the classroom, Abeka will definitely fit the bill, but I can't recommend it myself and have found that anecdotally (is that a word?), those parents who chose to homeschool using boxed curricula like Abeka, tend to burn out much faster than those who are more eclectic.
