I have quite weak ankles and my coach at gymnastics is against any kind of ankle supports! However I often hurt my ankles doing tumbles etc... They always roll to the side! And I think I need to build up some strength in my ankles, what strength exercises can I do to make them stronger?
 
I had a gymnast with the same problem. There were lots of simple exercises i had her do and that her PT recommended to help. Draw the alphabet in the air with your foot, not using your leg. Stand on one leg as much as you want all day. Try it with you eyes closed. Using a resistance band with point, flex, and side to side motions against the resistance. If you are having any pain you should see a doctor or PT.
