So I know there's not too many people with USAIGC experience, but would anyone happen to know the difference? These are the scores from a meet last year and it has Bronze in three separate divisions: BD (Bronze Diamond, I know what that is) but also "B1" and "B2"?? The scores are higher in B1, so I have a theory, but if anyone knows for sure that would be great! Thanks! :)

I know there's a C1 and C2 (copper one and two) and the only differnce is that c2 can do a back handspring on floor. So I'm guessing B2 allows for harder skills? Just a guess not positive.

Based on there being no overlapping teams in B1 and B2… and them being in different sessions, it might just be how they kept them straight for the sessions (B1 was in Session 8 and B2 was in session 9). All 3 of the Bronze Diamonds were on teams in Session 8 too.

C1 and C2 are actually two separate levels (you're right, different skills/rules) but Bronze is Bronze at this point. There's a fairly big jump from BR to SI so I guess they have talked about doing a true B1 and B2? Our gym has two training groups and calls them Bronze 1 and Bronze 2. My theory (based on some stalking lol) is that the B1 group had done Bronze the previous season as well and the B2 group was newbies to Bronze. Most of that B1 group are Silver this year and I couldn't find any in the B2 group that are at quick glance. This is not a bad idea since it's a range of skills within the level and most kids do more than one season at each level. Selfishly I'm hoping they do it this way again this year and put Puma Jr in the weaker group! Thanks for looking!

With the exception of a few kids, they are different gyms.

It is likely just 2 different sessions. With those few kids being accommodated for scheduling issues or possible competing up or down a level.

There is no B1 or B2, division wise, just Bronze Diamond.

The difference between C1 and C2 is first year competing is C1 and second year is C2.

Hmmmm Maybe you're right. And the gyms in B1 just happen to be stronger hence the higher scoring? Our gym didn't do this one last year, so not sure where we'd fit it. It is what it is either way, I was just curious. Thanks!

It is one of the meets that allows specialist competition too ($20 per event)

My DD did IGC for 5 years. I was told B1 is the first year Bronze and B2 is the second year in Bronze. Bronze diamond is forced on a gymnast once the score a set level of AA score.

There is no Bronze 1 and 2.

Copper has 1 and 2

You know more than me. DD never competed Bronze. She did one year in Copper next in Silver this year GOLD. My daughter had her last IGC meet yesterday. She got 3rd AA in 10-11-year-old Gold, she is 10. She starts fresh at USAG tomorrow. I will say the IGC was very beneficial for her, she started out a timid little girl. They worked with her and taught her some impressive skills, she loves learning new skills. We will see how she takes to USAG JO program.

Congrats. I only know a little about IGC. Was that States? I thought they had Regionals after States. Or did she stop because she switched over to JO? Did the gym suggest switching over to JO?

Good luck on the JO track.

Yes they have regionals and worlds. We did those last year. Her gym was taking higher level girls to the JO program. We decided if she is going JO go to a quality usag gym.

@John thanks for the insight. It's tough to find IGC info! Like @Deleted member 18037 said, Bronze is Bronze. Our gym has Bronze 1 and Bronze II training groups, but they compete the same. The owner told me that apparently there has been talk of making them two divisions like Copper I and Copper II, which I think would be a good idea since there's a fairly big gap between Bronze and Silver, but this is all new to me so what do I know. Lol At this particular meet that I wrote this post about it appeared that it was just two separate sessions.
