Proud Parent
So tomorrow is the first time my daughter competes after an injury that kept her from full training for almost 7 months. I am so proud of her determination, God knows I would have given up. She broke both bones in her forearm had a plate and a wire (which are now removed). Last night suddenly she starts crying. She is saying she is embarrassed and that people are going to be disappointed in her because expect her to be as good as she was before the injury. She did not vault for 9 months. She did not tumble for 7 months. It is so difficult to explain to a child that these skills don't magically reappear, and how far she has come since returning to the gym in October. Anyone who has words of wisdom I can give her to put her journey back in perspective would be appreciated.
