How to protect gymnasts from hazardous chemicals at gym facilities

Switching to flame retardant free foam pit cubes reduces exposures without compromising fire safety

I suggested we do this at the last gym my daughter and I worked out at/worked at (when we were moving to a new building and getting new pits) and was shot down so fast. I would love to hear of gyms that take this seriously.

I was surprised none of our previous gym owners/coaches cared. Us former gymnasts/now coaches are obviously most affected! Did your gym ask to be a part of the study?

I would want to know if they are on top of this. It should be their responsibility. When this new first came out they advised all coaches that gymnasts should not be allowed to "clean pits." I have seen no change in this practice where I live, which is disappointing.
