Proud Parent
On the mom of a 13-year-old level 9 gymnast. I wish I'd known about this when my daughter was in the lower levels. I shared many of the same concerns I am reading about here. My daughter was on mini team for a few months, skipped level 4 and competed at level 5. Since then our main concerns have been injuries and illness. Dislocated elbow, two fractured feet, mono, sinus surgery. We homeschooled the last three years so she could train during the day. We go to a large gym and the nights are very crowded. Daytimes are much better for her to practice. In the fall she will start ninth grade at the public high school. Looking forward to the sense of community in the forum!

Good luck as you both enter this new stage in your lives! I look forward to hearing about your successes! :)
