Our gym does a pizza party, gift exchange ($10 max) and ice skating party. We meet at the gym, eat pizza, the gym gives all the kids gifts, then they do the gymnast gift exchange. After that we are off to an area ice skating rink for a couple hours with all of the gymnasts, coaches, staff and families.

For our gift exchange they group the girls by levels and each level forms a circle. They then tell a left - right story. You can make one up or find one online but essentially the story has the words left and right tons of times through the story and the girls pass their gift left or right. At the end of the story you open the gift that you are holding. It is always a ton of fun and the girls have a blast. If you have a creative parent or coach you could even make up a gymnastics related left/right story.

What an awesome game! That sounds like a lot of fun.

Our party is a bit more formal. The girls all get dressed up, we eat, they dance, get a gift from the gym, sing carols, and they have a candlelight ceremony for all the graduating seniors. It's a nice night out and they usually get a nice gift from the owners.

That sounds awesome!!! And very touching! What a lovely idea!

Our gym does the formal event in August where our Seniors are recognized. I think I have pics posted from past years (I'll double check) but it is typically done at the Country Club. The girls wear formal dresses, ride in Limos, there is a red carpet for them to walk and the parents line up like paparazzi taking photos. This event is where they get their annual team trophy for years of dedication and the seniors get a beautiful and huge shadow box frame. They pick out what they want to go in it and the owner has something extra special done for them. Many times it is one of their competition leotards, a medal or two, maybe a program or a flower that has been saved from a special meet. Such a special keepsake for the girls that have dedicated so many years to the sport. And of course there is the slide show montage for each senior that brings many laughs and often a few tears for the softies.
