    Cross your fingers and toes

Best wishes to your DD this weekend sending your way all the fairies we can. I'm sure she will have a blast. Icing on the cake would be a qualifying score straight out of the gate:D Keep us posted on the results. Oh, and hoping for safe travels as well:)

    IGC... worth it?

Sunobo, The "week" at Penn State isn't a week any more. They have two back-to-back 3-day sessions. If you sign up for both sessions, it actually ends up being more expensive than the week my daughter spent at Woodward. I also worried a bit about supervision. I never thoroughly researched it but...

    healing/preventing rips

My DD's coach recommended using Lanolin (you can find it in the baby section at your local Walmart near all of the bottles, etc - nursing moms use it) She puts it on at night before she goes to bed and by the next morning it has done wonders and she is ready for practice again.

    Fall Schedules

Well it sounds like you have a very responsible, resourceful daughter!! It does seem to be one of the great benefits of this sport as it encourages them to be very focused and driven.

    How to get the kip??

Aahh, the dreaded Kip. This was a thorn in my own DD's side when she moved from level 4 to level 5. In speaking with our coach as well as other mothers who had daughters in the upper levels it seems to be a combination of upper body strength as well as learning the "feeling", as in how you have...

    Choreography fees?

My DD is getting her first floor routine in a couple weeks. We are paying $250 for choreography + 3hrs. She is using music from another girl from our gym from last year so we get a break in that respect.

Parents Is it time to quit?

Awesome news!! I am so happy for her - I am sure this will put a whole new perspective on the upcoming season. This is a perfect opportunity to remind her that all of her hard work and perseverance does pay off:D

Parents Is it time to quit?

My heart just aches for both of you:weepy:. My DD just took the last 2 weeks off from gym as she was so stressed about working on giants and felt overwhelmed as she just moved up the beginning of the summer - she will be competing as a novice prep optional in the fall but is now working out...

Parents About to faint over the price of this leotard

OOHH, this is a painful year for me - my DD is moving up from compulsory to optionals (new leo AND warmup) and we need to purchase a floor routine $250. Our gym is getting new leos for the optionals this year so we have only heard rumors on the cost, but I have heard anywhere from $200-280...

    Parents Scared DD

I can completely sympathize - my daughter is currently experiencing a fear of giants. She has been working with straps and her tap swings are good, but she just does not want to progress to the giant. I have tried to talk to her about it, but I'm not sure I'm helping:( She just left for camp...

    Hi all - finally registered!

Actually, that is one of the reasons I finally decided to register - my daughter has been working on alot of new skills since May and she has developed a fear of giants. I am hoping to find alot of advice from other parents/coaches here to help her work through it.

    Hi all - finally registered!

Hi everyone - I am a pround mom to a 10 year old dd. She just completed competing last season as a level 5 and had a great year. She also started Tops training the end of last summer, which she really enjoyed and helped her skill-wise tremendously with the extra conditioning. Even though she...
