I have an assignment in French to make up a contest, so of course I'm doing a handstand contest. I know we have quite a few Canadians on here...so...anyone know how to say handstand in French? My parents speak French but not gymnastics. :)

We call it une équilibre. You could also say un appui tendu renversé or ATR. We most often use équilibre though.

Catou is right, but just a precision, the formal way to say it should be "un équilibre".. A lot of people use "une" around here but it's a regional thing, if you look it up in a dictionary you'll find it's a masculine word. Good luck with your presentation, it sounds like fun :)

Sophiagymgall is right... Looks like I'll say un équilibre now... it a bit like trampoline. We should say un but almost everybody says use.
