Elite compulsory scores vary widely depending on your testing location. Having said that, the following are truisms:
1. Without a lot of natural power, although the skills are easy, it is challenging to score well at elite compulsory fx. Taking elite comp fx for granted is a recipe for disaster.
2. Usually vault scores in the upper 8s for everyone, but the powerful kids can score above 9.5+.
3. Beam has very easy skills, but exceptional flexibility, dance ability/presentation, and immaculate form are required. Often the powerful kids struggle here.
4. If anyone thinks that elite compulsory bars are anything but among the most difficult parts of gymnastics, they are insane. Form and technique must be immaculate. The low bar 2 casts coupled with a pirouette into 2 circles are wildly difficult unless the gymnasts have been trained to have proper positions and control. Blind/FG/FG ... maybe 1/2 of hopes gymnasts can master this skill and usually this skill decides qualification for both at compulsories and optionals. These bars skills require an exceptional coach who is spectacularly well-trained and emotionally, financially and physically dedicated to elite. The spotting and hours involved - almost always to the detriment of other gymnasts or to their personal families - is off the chain. You can't stumble into elite, you have to work for it for years no matter what your background.

As for a non elite gym training elites, the off-the-charts kids like Simone can do it. Simone was older when she hit her stride and bars held her back for a long time, however. Around 75% of Championship-qualified elites train in the same 8 gyms in the United States. A larger number of gyms can produce gymnasts who score a 51, while few can produce gymnasts that score a 55.

New gyms can break into the upper eschelon at any time. Look at MG Elite. However, these coaches are as exceptional as their gymnasts and it's more difficult to produce an elite than to be an elite.

Elites do many skills that most JO gymnasts do not, which is why future elites need to be introduced these elements early in gymnasts. Among these skills are reverse grips on bars and dance skills on fx and beam (3/8 skills are dance on these events).
