Proud Parent
Is it more dance or certain dance moves or jumps?

I do not mean to take up too much of your time, but if you don't mind will you be descriptive.

Thank You

Until she gets her dance lessons, I would not want more dance. I would, however, love to see her do her wolf 1/2 in combination with her tuck full :)

I am not exactly sure of what you are asking. In an effort to keep our routines efficient and clean, I normally do not ask our athletes to do more than the code asks (if the USA G code asks for 8 skills, we present 8 skills).

At this part of the season, skills/series are high priority, first couple of meets under their belt, our USA G optional athletes are developing the character and quality in sections of their routine. Each athlete has a WOW skill/series that is to include a dance portion. The WOW is something to excite the audience/judges/teammates. Examples on FX are a different led attitude/arm movements in a 2/1 turn, or performance attitude complimenting their cozen FX music. We do the same on BB.

During our week the USA G Optional group rotates thru 2 dance rotations. I do one and our dance/ballet instructor does the other. I am not a ballet/dance expert, but I implement what they have been studying in the studio to the BB or FX. (This has been very editing to me. I am a better coach for working this part of the skilled gymnast repitior.) This week I have reviewed ballotte's (http://www.abt.org/education/dictionary/index.html ), ballonce's (http://www.abt.org/education/dictionary/index.html), and cabriolle's (http://www.abt.org/education/dictionary/index.html) for inclusion in parts of their BB routines.

I hope I have contributed to your query. Best, SBG -
