I find it odd that a gym that only goes up to Level 8 would have that kind of language in their handbook. What happens when a gymnast is ready to go to Level 9?

If your daughter wants to compete and you support her decision, then find another gym. Her chances for team at your current gym are pretty much nil. Just my 2 pennies.

There were 11 girls on DD's L3 team. 3 moved to other g yms. 1 retired due to injury. 3 moved to IGC and eventually retired. 1 retired to do music instead.

I would stick with your original plan. The coaches should inform them about ribbons. This way there is no added importance to the ribbons and praise should be placed on her effort. Enjoy the ride and congrats to your DD!

Region 1 does not have L6 Regionals as well. I thought that was the case for all regions, but apparently not.

We have 8 weeks of summer gym camp. It's almost a work day. Six hours plus half-hour lunch. The "almost" part does make it difficult because camp starts after most parents' workday starts and ends before most workdays end. The one thing I love about summer gym is that she gets her weekends back...

Most meets we go to offer an all day pass. It doesn't help though if you have DDs competing on two different days.

Your DD is lucky. When DD joined pre team at 5.5 yrs old, it was pretty much all conditioning and shaping and then the last 10 minutes were free time. Box jumps, stall bar, rope climbs, running down the vault track, chin ups, presses, etc. were all presented in a fun way but watching her...

Lockers were cleaned out and reassigned last weekend. DD was thrilled to get one of the lockers that's almost as tall as her. Her group had been using the small square lockers since pre-team.
