What is easiest to do to handstand if you have NO experience in circling skills.
Gymnast is super strong (various handstand presses, rope climb, leg lifts,..) and super flexible (overspltits, pancake,...) and a pretty good overall L5 gymnast.
Free Hip, Toe On or Stalder?
I would like to start working on another vault rather than my FH.
I am definitely a powerful gymnast. My FH on vault is pretty good I would say.
I want to compete it next October, so about 6 months. Of course, I will decide it with my coach and we will try different drills. However, I was...
A girl at my gym is doing giants, free hips, kip cast hands and flyways all without grips on. but she is not a tiny girl, she is 14 already and probably about 120lbs!
she said she got her grips at L5, but had a hard time relearning the skills so she always refused using them.
is this common...
Been to a meet yesterday.
I am obsessed with stalders, like, really obsessed. So I saw a dismount of a girl, that I have never seen before!
Here is what she did:
Starting on Low Bar: Kip – Straddle Cast Handstand – Stalder Handstand – Sole Circle – Jump to High Bar – ½ Turn Kip (so she is...
Hello,
I don't have a specific question concerning myself or my gymnastics, but more a general question because I am really into this and love to learn things about gymnastics.
My gym focusses on active flex A LOT. Kicks with bands, snapping to splits hanging from a bar etc. It is usually done...
I have a nice and high running front tuck/pike/layout. My Layout is very archy though to get around!
I also have a front handspring and a flyspring with a nice rebound.
I have never tried connecting any front skills together, but I once tried FT FT on my trampoline at home. I think I can...
I was just wondering if there are or maybe you know any different bar dismounts besides the regular under swing (with or without twists) and flyaway (tuck or layout), that are not too hard to learn? Doesn't matter if valuable by JO or not.
I like how flyways look, but I sometimes wish there was...
My coach says korbut flicks are easier than normal BHS on beam, but they are also a B.
The reason why we rarely see them is that coaches don't like teaching them because they might mess up your BH technique because they tend to be undercut a bit and also, the BH is a very important skill to...
I was wondering about a front tumbling passes recently.
What is easier,
FH FT/FP or running Front Layout?
Why is a single running Lay a B and a FH FP an A?
I don't mean just chucking them, because I have seen horribly FH FT with totally bent knees, but doing it really beautiful and clean!
Is there such a thing as a "routine creator?" Maybe online or an app or anything?
Like where you can put together your own routine, and then an animated gymnast is doing it so you can see what it should look like?
Thaks
What is the hard part about a stalder?
The "making it around the bar" or the "hitting handstand" part?
I am asking because I want to have a circling skill that doesn't take too long to learn!
I have a kip cast handstand, sole circles and of course back and front hip circles. I think free hip...
hey guys,
I am sorry that this is my second post in a row but this question popped into my head this morning.
I am not competing in the JO Code (I want to switch, though).
I am Xcel but I have all level 7 skills. I have started gymnastics quite late and was never introduced into walkovers.
I...
I want a forward or side acro skill in my beam routine.
So far, I am doing a BH and a Back Tuck.
I don't want a Cartwheel. I have my side aerial but I think it will be hard on beam.
So I thought about a Front Toss to Sit on beam!
Here is a video:
Is this a hard move? Do you think it is...
I was wondering if "the more to better" applies to gymnastics skills?
I know that when you do strength training you need to give your body some rest to recover and adapt to the new stress - but what about skills? Like standing tucks, round off back handsprings, full twists, kips, free hip...
when I started gymnastics I picked up the skills very quickly. when we learned front Handspring's and bounders I had a very easy time with bounders but the front handspring took a lot longer! So while the others trained front Handspring's I did bounders. I can do a good bounder on floor now and...
I have had a pretty bad knee injury so I couldn't do heavy tumbling or vault for the last 6 months.
I want to be able to compete L8 by summer!
I am so ready on bars and beam, because I have focused on that for the last months. But I wasn't allowed to do heavy tumbling.
I have a very good back...
