    Competition Season Coming Soon

I can imagine that some of us are feeling the pressure of competition season coming up. I am really anxious. I'm excited to get our leos and warm ups and get out on the competition floor, but I'm nervous that I won't get my skills in time. I was previously Xcel Gold, and am working really hard...

    WAG Competition leo - washing?

Do you wash competition leos after every meet? Just wondering what the norm is :)

WAG Is it a bad idea to have white on a competition leo?

The older team girls at my gym are helping to design/pick out the new competition leos for next year. We have white in our team colors and I think certain leo designs would look great with it. I am reluctant to use it though because every time I do the little warning pops up: "Your color...

    WAG Old Competition Leo?

We are getting a new competition leotard this year. Many people took the old one and cut off the sleeves. It looks great, and stops us from sweating so much in the summer. I tried this once and completely ruined the leotard. Do any of you wise people have any tips before I ruin a second one? :)

    WAG Competition bras

This is the story guys. I am a 10E (32F us sizing) and having a bra that does not show is impossible! I need a high impact bra that can not been seen for competition. This is very hard! Any one have ideas? Personal experience?

WAG Cutting competition leotards to make into workout leos

I have two competition leotards (one worn 3 times, the other only worn once), that I'm not sure I want to sell. I think I'd like to make them (or at least one of them, the other is really too pretty to touch) into a workout leo (just a tank leo instead of long sleeves). Has anyone done this...

Parents anyone else get stress about choosing the size for competition leos

At our gym, the girls have to try on the sizers and then the parent has to sign off on the size of the leos. The girls were the leos for two years. I'm always fearful that I am going to order too small or too big. I have two girls in this sport and it can be a costly mistake on my part. I...

WAG New Jersey Xcel competition season.

I cannot for the life of me find out when New Jersey's (region 7) Xcel competition season begins. I tried looking on the USAG website and the website for my state/region, but to no avail. Does anyone know this information, or where I could find it? I want to know so I can plan when I should have...

WAG First competition - what would you regard as a good result?

DD recently had her first competition. She only moved from Rec to team late last summer. She was in a large tough field with a fairly low start value (lots of girls with far harder skills). She came in the second quarter of the overall results - beating a lot more girls than beat her and in...

    Horrible, horrible competition

I crashed a competition yesterday - the first time I've ever done that. I don't even know what happened - I did my first skill (BSS(T)) fine, took off for my second skill (mind blank starts here) the skill was a straddle jump. That move that you learn on your first day at trampolining. I landed...

Parents Bras for under competition leos?

My daughter has started wearing a bra with her leos. For school, regular clothes, she has those little cotton camisole type. She started wearing them at practice, because she's feeling self conscious with her leotard (she doesn't truly NEED a bra). Within a week of daily wear, she has ripped...

    WAG Competition leotard newbie. Help!

Hello everyone! I'm thinking of ordering a set of competition leotards, and a set of practice leotards for my eleven girls. I was wondering what the process is like, and when I should order them. These girls will be competing next year, and I want to notify the parents as early as possible, as...

Parents Competition leotard Disaster!!! Wish me luck PLEASE!!

At this point I can only laugh, otherwise I would cry. One of our cats apparently got locked in my girls bedroom, and during that time had to go poop...yep, right in the closet, on top of her competition wear. Leotard, warm ups, cat nailed it all. Cat scat on everything. I threw it...

    WAG Unitards for competition

Has anyone ever seen unitards in competition? The owner of our gym wants our team in unitards. I don't think they are against the rules, but I have never seen it myself. Thoughts?

    Parents Competition line up

Hello all! Just wanting to get some input here. DD on sanctioned competition team. DD has been made to go first on beam a few times. Though she is no Olympian, she is not horrible. She's had a solid beam routine this whole season and hasn't fallen off one time. There are a couple girls that...

    WAG Competition Season coming

Hey guys, so I pulled my hip flexor the other night and I have had some severe knee pains. I can't take a break at the moment because competition season is starting in two weeks. Does anyone have any ideas to help them heal faster. I might go in to the doctor this week. Thanks!

WAG Competition Newbie--XCEL level confusion :/

Hi... This is my daughter's 1st competition year as a bronze level gymnast. We are a small, modest gym, and not crazy competitive, but very capable. Prior to this year our gym was UUA, but switched to USAG XCEL this year in the hopes of giving our girls a better chance at placement (i.e...

    WAG Competition rules

I was informed that it is a new rule this year that the childs hair is not allowed to be able to reach around and touch the childs nose, so that when she is doing her routines her hair is not in her face and cannot obstruct her vision. My DD's hair is very fine and very hard to keep up, so I...
