I was wondering if anyone has any certain skills or a level which they want to achieve before they retire from being a gymnast?

I want to be competing level 7 with clean and consistent skills.
I also want to learn an Onodi and giants.

I want to be a college gymnast, even if I am an event specialist, and I want to do a clean, solid back handspring layout step out on beam.

I want to compete in college too. My dream school is ucla but I don't think it's going to happen because I am in 10th grade now and a level 8. You never know!!

I'm on my third year of level 9 right now, was discussing going to 10 with my coach but at this point it seemed like 9 again was the best choice. I'll probably retire at the end of next year, (senior year), and I would ideally compete level 10 next year, but you never know what will happen! Level 10 has always been my goal.

It sounds silly as a level seven to be saying this but i'd love to double back even if its on the air floor I'd be happy but that probably isn't going to happen so all I can do is dream :p realistically I'd love to be able to full twist on floor

Scares me to think about retiring!!

I want to go at least p4 or p5 before I retire. I would love to go National but it's not the most realistic goal. Time will tell :)

Seriously though, just thinking about quitting/retiring from gymnastics puts tears in my eyes.

For me, as an xcel gold gymnast (level 5-6) I would love to learn a flyaway and to compete a round off on beam and a layout on floor. Unfortunately this is my last chance because I graduate this year. I already know I'm going to cry at my last meet this year and its kinda depressing to think about...

I would also love to make my state team and compete at Nationals before I retire from competitive gymnastics and then only do adult gymnastics.

I agree thinking about retiring also makes me extremely sad. I posted this to see what level you would be "happy" although still extremely sad to retire from competive gymnastics before perhaps continuing gymnastics with fewer hours. I don't think I could ever imagine my life without it.

College gymnastics, definitely! Some skill goals I have are:
Short term- Giants, Kip-cast-handstand, and roundoff on beam. I am the same level as gymgirl2013.
Long term- BHS on beam, and anything with twists on floor.

I would love to be a Jr. Elite on trampoline. Right now I am a BABY level 10. Skills wise for tumbling I would like to be level 7 or 8 ( I know it is a low goal but I am a terrible tumbler) For double mini I'd like to be a solid 10, maybe competing a barani double pike and lay out straight fliffis pike. And I would very much like to go Jr. Elite on trampoline, doubt it is possible with my fear issues but who knows?

My goal is to be a level 7. I'm 19 years old and competing level 6 so I really don't see myself going much farther but all I've ever wanted is to have Optional Routines.

It seems as if the new level 6 next year will make this a real possibility for me!! I'm super excited and even more excited as Courtney McCool will be choreographing my floor routine!!
