So anyone really know something about being an IES ? I'm looking at that option for vault and floor, because I really excel at them. I'm just confused. If I do take this path, can I compete at Nationals if I am one? I wanted to do college gymnastics and I know I can't do all the events but floor and vault are quite possible for me to do in college. And do colleges really take IES's for floor and vault? Sorry with all the questions, there will probably be more to come but help is greatly appreciated!

I believe that to go to nationals as an event specialist you must come in first at regionals on that event. In regards to college, it really depends on where you want to go to and what they need from your recruiting class. From what I understand many of the top D1 teams try to fill their spots with kids they could use on three events. But, if you are strong on those two events and the school has a floor and vault worker graduating that year then they would take a strong event specialist. So, yes a strong floor and vault worker could make a college team.
Ps. I hope this helps, it's my first post on CB
