At our gym the girls get them once they can do their kips consistently. The gym buys them and bills us for them. I am grateful for that! I wouldn't really know what to buy and getting grips to Canada can be a bit of a pain with customs, etc.
Same thing happened when she started training on the strap bars, the gym bought her some wristbands and just billed us for the cost.
