Can back tucks (or tucks in general) be too tucked/tight?

When I do a back tuck, I am
really tucked tightly.

But when I watch videos of meets, on instagram where people do RO BT or RO BH BT most of the time they don't tuck that tight. They grab their kness and their legs make a 90 degree angle.

I don't know what is right? I think its easier to tuck tightet because I get around easier... But of course I want to do it right!

This is what I see people do:

This is how I tuck (maybe even a little tighter):

Can you help me? Maybe you can post a video of a perfect back tuck?

A tight tuck is the best deduction wise, no body position deductions if in a nice tuck. Body position deductions come into play in a more open tuck.
However, I teach a more open tuck for a couple reasons.
1) if you are not rotating you can pull in tighter to finish the rotation. If you are already tight and aren't rotating you can't do anything.
2) being more open teaches kids to rotate their hips to initiate rotation, instead of spinning super fast.
3) makes it easier to transition to a layout.

I'm assuming that you are doing a tumbling pass, and not just a standing back tuck? The 'tighter' the tuck, the easier it is to make it around, so when you first learn it, that is normal and good. As you get better, you want to start to open it up as much and as quickly as you can, so that you can move on to pikes and layouts. I try and spend very little time on tucks, as I feel they create a lot of bad habits, but they are a necessary 'evil.' ;) Keep at it, and listen to your coaches. Good luck. :)
