my DD takes awhile to vault after she salutes the judges, is there a time limit or deductions for this?

I think they give you about 10-15 seconds before they start getting a bit skippy.

Thank you, she has this ritual she does before she vaults that takes about 5 seconds..

Seems right, I don't know much about it so you should probably trust her more then me

Mine didn’t start doing it until she moved to level 8 and went from a handspring vault to a flip vault. I never have to worry about not getting it on video at meets, she gives me plenty of time to get my camera out on her turn! Whatever they need to do to get over the vault is fine by me.

Our DD has started this little hoppy jump thingy before she vaults. We aren't exactly sure what she's doing. She says it gives her more power but my DH says she looks like a crazed horse. Of course we don't tell her that but the first time we saw it at her first meet this season, it was a little shocking and maybe even hard not to laugh. Now I just try not to watch..

I know in FIG you have 30 seconds and a 0.3 deduction if you wait too long. This was much discussed after last year's Europeans where it cost Berki the gold on pommels
