I didn't know there was one. Hmmm, now I'm curious. I thought they saluted to signal the end of the routine.

My club used to do it if we fell off beam, we then got a new coach (years ago now) who told us that we shouldn't because you are indicating that your routine is over and the judges have the right to stop marking (although i'm sure they wouldn't but half makes sense if you get me)

That's the 'old days', I believe if you check you will find that saluting the judge after a fall signifies the end of the routine and they should/will stop judging at that point.

so, our boys don't do their "one-armed" salute, but will do their 2 arms up to the judge, and have had judges tell them to. It is different than their salute though.

You do not get deducted for not saluting after you fall you will get deducted for not getting on the beam in 30 seconds after u fall though
