5 seconds would be legit.

I'd work a mix of short intense holds and much easier holds that are lower than your best for longer duration.

Besides working on the tuck V to extend. Instead of just trying to extend to the V from the tucked V, work on opening the V just a bit.

Tuck V, open forelegs/shins to horizontal and working up to holds of 20-30 seconds.

Then opening to 15 degrees above horizontal, 30 degrees, 45 degrees, etc.

Yes! It sounds like this is MORE than enough time for you to reach your goal!

-Get on the parallel bars and do a support hold (girls can use them too!). Lift your legs (without momentum) to a V position. If you don't get all the way to the position just get as high as you can! Start with 5 reps but work your way to 25-50 reps. As you get stronger, begin to hold the V position even if it is just for a tenth of a second at first. Before you know it you will be at .5 seconds, then 1, then 2, and then 10!

-Yes on the drills in the post above

-Do L supports for 30 seconds at a time. If you do not make it, don't come down, just move into a tucked position and keep holding it. (this one is just for general strength obviously)

-sit facing the wall. Put your heels up on the wall with your legs straight (a V position, but you are not supporting yet, you are on your butt). Now do a V hold with your heels resting on the wall. Try to pull your heels off of the wall. Make sure you having something soft behind you because you may fall onto your back.

-Also here is some more general strength you should attain... 100 v-ups in a row, 2 minute hollow hold, 20-30 legs lifts in a row on bars or stall bars, and 1 minute V-hang with your toes on the bar (Straight arms)

-Oh and dips are very important as well. Dips build your triceps, which your don't notice much on an L hold, but because VERY important in a V or manna hold.

Happy conditioning!

1 min V hang...never thought about doing these for that long. Hmmm.

Def need strong triceps for Vsit or Manna

Thanks for both your answers? How many Dips should I do and how long a V Hang?

As much as you can.

How much you need to lean on your triceps depends on your active hip flexibility (strength of hip flexors to compress past L).
