I have an athlete that has a conflict with an upcoming meet. She is only a Level 2, and the meet starts at 8 am. She has to leave at 11:00 am. I am going to put her first up on our last event and hope we can get her through on time. However, if not, she will have to leave before the last...
Are gymnasts required to stop after the glide and then chin up, hold, pullover?
I don't read the text that way but kids that do it that way seem to score better than those that glide, feet hit the floor, then immediately pullover.
My child wears a size AXS leotard. She wears a size 10 in pants.
I'm having the hardest time deciding what size GK warmups to get her. I hear they run small, but I don't know if they run small enough to move her up to an AXS in the warmups? I don't want the sleeves or length to be too...
I don't have the book with me right now, but I was wondering about the deduction for a lack of arm circle for Level 2 Vault. I have a gymnast who has a great vault, but doesn't circle. When she does circle, her vault slows way down and is just generally not as explosive. We will keep trying...
My level 3s don't compete for a few more months, but I am looking at scores from fall meets and it appears beam scores are much lower than they were for the old level four.
I will get to go watch a meet in December but I was wondering if that was the case in your area and if so, what they are...
My understanding is that there is no deduction for a coach on the floor unless a spot occurs. Is this correct?
I have an athlete that likes someone "close" for her tumbling. Thanks!
Is this common?
I could be wrong but my understanding of the Disney meet is that you HAVE to stay at one of the hotels on a list, unless you can provide proof that you have family in the area? Is this accurate? Having to prove anything to a meet I'm paying to enter and paying to watch rubs me...
I have a gymnast that struggles mightily with bars. She's more solid than my other athletes who have a leaner body type and just struggles so much with bar conditioning. Even her pullover is very labored. We do chin ups and pull ups but even then she can't pull herself all the way up. Is...
What do you think the percentage of kids will be competing the kip?
With the start value the same, I wasn't sure if it would be just a few or if gyms would start to require a good kip for Level 3.
Do the gymnasts kick up to handstand, then show split before stepping down? Or do they never bring their legs together and remain split throughout the skill?
Next year, when the current Level 2 skills move down to the level 1 routines, will level 1 be a competitive level? Here in TX, I mainly have seen competition start at Level 2.
My daughter can do her pullover when she kicks up with one leg, but is about 50% with it when she takes off from two feet. What's the deduction for stepping into it?
