I got a kip but it sucked about two years ago, now I'm training for level 7 possibly 8 next season! It is possible to do it in a small amount of time, I got mine in about 3 months when I had a bicep tendon tear in my knee. Grant I to was doing like 500 a day back then but I worked hard and did tons of strength every day! Mostly core and arms are important. Some of the kids at my gym get them by muscling up after they glide up! They just kinda throw an arm above the bar and pull up! If you have enough strength try that. Good luck and don't get to frustrated! Have fun :)
