Is it normal for a coach to have someone compete a new skill when the athlete and/or other coaches dont feel they are ready for? My coach is having me compete my pike tsuk on Sunday but i feel im not ready for. About 75% of the time I land on or hit my head on the floor. I really dont feel it is safe to do this when im landing like this. I have also only done the skill for maybe 5 days now. I can do a tuck tsuk fine and have asked my coach if I could do that but he says my pike is better. What should I do? I dont feel very confident with it yet and I am afraid I will hurt myself.

Sometimes, you just gotta trust in your coach...and hope for the best.

One of my guys did not trust in himself, but I did. His season turned out alright. Now, the skill level wasn't as high but the issue was the same. You don't trust in yourself while your coach does.
