level 8 vault scoring

I thought I knew how this worked but now I'm not sure. My DD, 12 year old level 8, is telling me they average the 2 vault scores. I always thought they took the better of the 2. Does that change at L8 and higher? What if she has a vault that doesn't count?

Judges take the higher of the two averages at all levels.

I don't know if it's different where I'm at, but we compete USAG in Wisconsin, and they take the better of the two vaults

Do you mean USAG levels 1-10 as higher levels like elite will be different. Different levels in the UK have different rules. Some count the best of 2, some average the 2 scores and some have 1 vault only.

FIG and FIG junior is 1 vault and that counts unless you opt to do 2 different vaults which are then averaged and makes you eligable for vault finals.
