Question about leotards rubbing on your skin?

Hey! So I was just wondering if any of you/your children, get sores or burns from their leotards? The reason why I'm asking this is because I have one from my leo and I'm wondering what I can do about it? thanks!

Ouch! Could it be a reaction to the detergent your leos are washed in? Or maybe you have grown and need a bigger size? Is the irritation around the seams or leg holes? My dd has had tag irritations- but never a burn or sore. Is it unique to a specific leo? If you've ruled out sizing and detergents and it is not isolated to one leotard, I would talk to your doctor or get a referral to a skin specialist. If it is a certain leo- maybe it is the synthetic blend or the elastic used in manufacturing.
Good luck.

I bought my DD's some metallic GK leos at one point. They were a very good deal. Trouble is they couldn't bear to wear them as they rubbed so much. The solution was to stop wearing them.

This happens to dd as well when she wears her "competition fit" metallic leo. She doesn't get buns though, just really red along the leg hole area. I have no solution, but am looking forward to see if anyone else has one!

Yup the metalic leos have that issue if the metalic is at the legs and armpits. There are some others that have seams in the midline that my DD complains about. I would say that most don't cause any issues and the leos that do she doesn't wear and get either donated to the boosters to re-sell or have been sold on e-bay. I think really its how sensitive your skin is and if it will react to the fabrics. My DD has sensitive skin so we wash clothes in perfume and dye free detergents, use body soaps for sensitive skin etc.

yup. my DD has issues with foil/metallic leotards, as she has eczema. only wears them by necessity (her team leo).
