There are two of these mats and another two that are narrower, about half as wide, and have buckles instead of strap like in the picture. I have no idea what the purpose for these are. Anyone know?

At our gym the coaches do the cleaning. Yesterday, I noticed that after I was finished wiping down our mats with the solution that is supposed to get rid of chalk, they still had a chalk film on them. How and/or what do you use to clean mats at your gym?
