I haven't posted in a long time, but it's time to get in touch with a gymnastics community again.
My 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes this past November 24, 2014. She is a level 9 gymnast who has been competing since she was 7. We were unsure but hopeful that diabetes would have little affect on her. I am proud to say it hasn't slowed her down in the least. She is having one of her best seasons as an optional! She competed on December 12, 2014 just a few short weeks after hospitalization/diagnosis. She scored a 31.975 just shy of a state qualifying score of 32. Today she skyrocketed to a 35.625 adding a fabulous new vault and sticking her beam routine! She is hoping to perform a double tuck in her floor routine in a few weeks and put her switch leap back tuck back into beam routine. We are so proud of her and how well she is taking care of herself!

That's so great that she's able to do well in gymnastics and mange her health!
