Then a word of advice, don't try and drive on the Strip itself as your normal route; get to the freeway that more or less parallels the strip.

Thanks. I don't plan on renting a car and perhaps getting to and from the airport and to the venue would be my only need for a car so we will Uber or taxi.

Question on this.....Hubby was just in Boston, so it prompted me to think about this. Does Vegas allow Uber/Lyft to pick up at the airport? Boston does not.....but you can take them TO the airport.

Curious.... anyone stay at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino in Vegas??? Any thoughts?

Treasure Island is centraliy located on the strip. I've never stayed there nor have I been inside so I would not know what the accomodations are like or the condition of the hotel. It is among the older hotels. They had or may still have a free ship battle show at the front of the hotel. But I saw that at least 20 years ago. The hotel should be ok depending on what you are looking for.

The Star Struck Invitational in Atlantic City is my favorite meet we go to every season. It's well run and is surrounded by lots of places to go and things to do. This year is actually going to be their 20th anniversary, so they're planning on doing some special things, too.

The ship is still there to look at, but no show anymore now, for at least 2 years

There is also shuttle service to and from the airport for a fee.

I'm a little late on this but we are doing the Chows Meet this year and also doing the meet in Savannah Georgia in early March. Anyone done the Savannah meet before? We've been to Savannah a couple of times (without kids) just wondering about the meet itself. Hoping for decent weather while we are there, looks like last year it was really cold and coming from Minnesota we would like some warmer weather while we are there!!

From a gymnast: my favorite "big" meets are Manhattan Classic and Presidential Classic. We don't do that many away meets but we do Manhattan every year and it's a very exciting and well run meet although you have to get there early to find your gym in time

One of the best meets I e been to was for men's.......West Point.
Super well run, got to check out the academy, went to see the college competition.......great experience.
I loved the Chicago style.......I loved Chicago, even though I froze.

Pink Invitational in Philadelphia, PA: Very well run, love having the host hotel & convention center attached, my gymnasts love getting to wear a special leotard, & it's for a great cause.

Magical Classic in Orlando, FL: Coaches get a free bottle of wine, athletes get a free leotard to take home, very well run, since it's not run on Disney property you have the option of staying on property or off (though this does mean it requires a rental car), the Disney team trophies are adorable.

California Classic in San Diego, CA: Great location, very well meet, did I mention it's a great location ;)

It was abnormally cold last year. The Civic Center has good seating but it's a little dirty. Overall it's a good meet.

I would go to Disney if parents got a free bottle of wine...

We did the Savannah meet last year. The weather was very nice, but it was cold and windy when we drove out to the beach. In town it was nice. There are 2 gyms in the same large room with elevated seating. The only problem was trying to view vault as it was very close to the wall and hard to see unless you walked around to the opposite side. Bleacher chair seating. Awards are in a nice auditorium with a stage. If I remember correctly our session ran very late, but they thankfully went through the awards very quickly so we could get out of there. There is free parking in the lot behind the Civic Center or a paid garage a block away. They do a very nice presentation for Senior gymnasts and give them all jackets and do a slide show.

Went to Charleston Cup 4 years, but it has been 4 years since we've been there. Nice meet. If it is the same set up there are 2 separate gym areas with a warm up gym in the middle (but separated by curtains). Seating was chairs on rising bleachers. It is in N Charleston, so a bit of a drive to go into Charleston to the waterfront area.

Has anyone been to the Charleston Cup? It is our first ever travel meet, so very excited to finally be in optionals.

We did charleston cup for 2 years (lv 6 and lv 7). Really big meet, great town and terrific food. I felt like scores were not generous, but fair across the board. Our team did ok, dd placed 3rd aa (considering size of meet, I was thrilled). Make time to enjoy the fantastic food and market downtown!!
