So im a level 8, but i have about a level 6 bars. i've been trying to get a cast handstand for 3 years. (way longer then what it should take.!) but i just cant seem to do it. my coach has me doing straddle ups, so what are some good drills i can do at home, or open gym (by myself) to help me get it.
-as an fyi i can do the floor bar ones where you have ankle weights and you jump up to a handstand, then you do less and less of a jump. i can do those with no problem.
-another problem i have , is (this is my opinion of my cast..) i can't get my but over my head enough to where i'd be able to get to handstand.. and i try to lean my sholders over to help with that, but as soon as i start to cast i push them straight back.
my free hips - i know your not supposed to/ allowed to touch your thighs/ hips to the bars, but that was how i was taught like 5 years ago, when first learned it..
so now i can only do a baby baby baby free hip without touching my hips.
-another problem for me is that i don't shoot out at the right time. like i know WHEN im supposed to, but when im doing the skill i guess my timming is off? bc i feel for when im upside down, but that makes its late? i guess i just dont comprehend when im supposed to shoot out when im actuallydoing the skill.
so any drills for freehips would be lovely.
oh i also SUCK at back extension rolls.. and i know thats a common drill for free hips..
