You'd think that as a level 10 I would have figured out what grips I like... but no, not really. So I have bulldogs and they stretch out so fast, they're also too smooth? I don't know if that makes sense but It just feels like I need to get chalk a lot. Does anyone have any recomendations?
When it comes to a gymnast's life, balancing everything and getting stressed out, in your opinion, when is it too far? When is too much, well too much? I'm reaching my breaking point/:
Hi!
So recently I decided to go on about 2 runs a week for at least 30 minutes. Semi gradually this increased and I find sometimes myself running for 2 hours or more. It has recently occured to me that the distance I run is sometimes up to a half marathon! And when I do, I'm tired but not winded...
This is true on floor but what about the other events? Is a double tuck dismount the same as a double pike dismount on beam and bars? Which do you personally (gymnast, parent, coach...) like to see best?
So at gym we have to hold handstands for 2-3 minutes (against a wall) and it doesn't sound hard but it's awful! I struggle so much to hold it for that long. I freak my teammates out when we come down too. They say my face gets paper white and my lips get purple. Is that normal? It doesn't happen...
I don't know if any of you remember, but about a month ago I posted about how I was unhappy with the sport, how I wanted to be done, etc. Well now, things have turned around. I'm not saying that I am no longer struggling but I am staying in the sport(: Wish me luck!!
For about the last 6 months I have been completely dreading practice. I have realized I just don't want to be at the gym. I find myself crying every practice and just wanting to go home. Recently I have lost all motivation and everything is starting to freak me out and scare me. Im so tired of...
So I'm sorry if its against the rules to ask questions like this... Many gyms have the girls pray together at meets/gym/events etc. of course nobody forces anyone to pray but I just don't think the gym is place for prayer... What do you think of prayer at the gym?
I am a level 10 and I am working a BHS (step out) BHS (2-foot) LO. This is such a hard series and it is nowhere near close to being on a real beam. I work it on a low beam (touching the ground) with beam mats. I'm wondering if there is any point to working this? Or is this a waste of time for...
So I just posted a thread on having issues with endurance... This is another thing that is just KILLING me! We have to run a mile before workouts 3 times a week. After we run (outside) we come in, stretch, and then go to our first event. Here's the problem. Our first event has just started and...
I just can't, all last year I struggled with this. Didn't make a single floor routine in practice or meets (no joke, fell every time) and now my coach wants harder routines. I understand, I want a harder routine, don't get me wrong. I just can't get the endurance to get it. All the running and...
It's early but I'm still thinking about what I want to do for my birthday and I'm having a big dilemma... I have gym friends, school friends, church friends, family friends... I'm sure many have at least dealt with school and gym friends so any tips? Should I have a big party with all of them...
I'm having an incredibly hard time getting up for morning practice now that it's summer. I'm tired and sluggish all practice and day and it's becoming a problem... Any tips/suggestions?
So I'm muscular. Obviously, as a level 10 gymnast I train, A LOT. To be honest I don't mind my toned, flat stomach or my legs, lol But my back, shoulders, and arms bother me. I have been told I have "man arms" and "wide shoulders" and that I have a "big, muscular back." It makes it impossible to...
So I'm working double lay out off bars and its not working so well. They look like open double pikes and my form is nice and all but it's not layed out! How can I open up my hips? I'm like in an over hollow... Please help! Thanks!
Why is that such a hard skill to learn? In an interview when Nastia was asked what skill was the hardest to learn for her she said a kip... It's something many struggle with, but why? How is it any different than another skill?
Ok kind of weird I know. I cut some music for my new floor routine and I have decided on one of them. So now I have some extra music. It's quite good, my coach praised my cuts so would anyone like them? I would hate to see them go to waste as I worked hard on them! They are good quality and...
